This is pretty good but could you make it so you can see the pictures of the people you search? Thank you!
Slight learning curve, but a very handy way to keep family history together.
The Ancestry app works very well on my iPad Air2. You can do everything you need to do. The "Almost great" is caused by the fact that the Ancestry app does not seamlessly share media with Ancestry 3 for Mac. Two share information between the two versions, you have to download EACH media file, then put it where it goes. This not only effects photos, but some vital documents. Enjoy it. You just have to work around the media issue.
So the App is nice, but if you really want to use it to its full power you need the paid subscription to their service. Which price wise is a huge rip off. They would actually make more money dropping it down to like a Netflix subscription because more people would do it. I can only afford it a few months at a time, and if used all hints and am waiting more documents to be loaded. I cant afford to pay while I wait.
It took a bit of figuring out how to use this app, but since I have its been a very good tool
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS APP!
This app is awesome
I love this App! I have been a member of Ancestry for many years now and this has made it very easy to enter information as I find, or if it finds me.
Please bring back the tap to expand. If someone above my home person has siblings theres no way of knowing because theres no silhouettes. Please add silhouettes whenever theres more to a tree not just to go up or down. (I have some cousins that have kids, but theres no way of knowing because theres no mark showing it.) also when Im on a parent of someone, their kids spouses dont show, theres not even a silhouette to that theres more, which is not a good choice. How are we as pose to navigate around easily when theres not always a marker to mark where theres more to see. I see no good reason for not always having a silhouette whenever, wherever theres more to see. please fix I think this app although nice, has a little ways to go.
I love this app! I can carry my genealogy with me. Its also fun to whip out in front of my grandparents. When they see theyre relatives they suddenly remember all these great things. Ive learned a lot and I enjoy telling my daughter about her heritage.
Much improved!! Quick and easy to use.
The app makes it easy to find new info about my ancestry. Ive found nuggets of info that allow me to get to know not only names but the people behind them. Ive been able to help family members fill in the blanks of their stories. Its really cool!
Best Tree App Ive found. It takes a little while to figure out how to do things in the App as its quite different from the website version; things are in different places and not all there but if youre a dedicated genealogist, then youre probably logical enough to figure out all the workarounds. Several "bugs" need fixed before it rates 5 stars; sometimes when I try to add an additional spouse to someone, the App closes (minor annoyance). The relationship listed for some Ancestors differs between the Website and the App. A "25th GGF" as listed in the Website version will show as the "3rd GGF of the husband of your 22nd Great Grand Aunt". This is due to marriages among distant cousins etc., but obviously the Website can handle it while the App does not do as well. (Major Annoyance). Worst feature is the "Search" ( bad in the App as well as the Website). Results include many docs that bear no resemblance whatsoever to the criteria you choose or tell you "no results" even when you KNOW there should be. Also, sometimes docs that have multiple people indexed will show up in one persons results but "disappear" when you search the other person later on (example: Death Certs often index 4 people although it will not appear in the search results for a couple of them). In one case, MY marriage certificate showed up in a search for my brother but NOT for me. (Major Annoyance).
This has been a great App, that I use on a regular basis.
A+ user-friendly
Seems to work as well as the desktop version- except awesome convenience of mobile phone!
Simply put: I love it.
I just downloaded the app and when I open it, it closes!
It is really good but you really need to already know a lot of information about your family or another way to get information to make this useful to its fullest potential.
