Easy to use and update while away from home. I can add photos and make corrections easily.

Yes on the go is great!!!! Love it. But you can only search for more info on relatives that are already in your tree. If I want to search for a relative not in the tree and have no info on this person as far as mother, father etc..... you cannot search for such a person. But I am sure as time goes on they will add more features. Thank you for being there Ancestry if it wasnt for you I would have never gotten this far.

This app works perfect when I dont want to pull my lap top out to work with my family tree software.

This has become my favorite app as I am an very active in my ancestry. I find it nicely streamlined and I am happy the kinks got worked out. One of my favorite features is on my iPhone widgets letting me know when its an ancestors birthday, marriage, or death. Its nice to reflect upon that person for that day.

Best Family History Linking the past to the future

I love the ability to sync automatically between Ancestry, FTM on my desktop and my iPad. It makes life so much easier. I would prefer a different style of sourcing. I list the source title differently (i.e. 1860 US Federal Census, WV and sometimes I include the county) and I put all of the information that is included in the document (except for books and the like)in the citation section. This makes for easy reference. I have it right before me and dont have to go back to the original document. Ive also noted that when there is a "hint" and I accept it, Ancestry just sources the singular person and leaves out the rest of the family. I then have to go back and source the rest of the family and end up with 2 of the same sources for the one family. Also with the hints I end up with a lot of duplicates. I wish that could be changed. All in all it is a great program.

I really like the new version. It makes it easy to work on my family tree and on the hints. It can be a bit buggy. 1-if you delete a person, you back to the first person (aka you). 2-does not have the merge capacity or I have not found it in the app. I have to use the pic based or web based application to use the merge function.

Easy to trace the basics. Fun - watch yourself though if you arent paying attention you can be adding wrong generations, etc. more warnings would help to avoid 5 year old mothers or children born before parents even.

Been using ancestry app for a while and its really brilliant and smooth to use even in the iPhone... A must have!!!

This app makes it so easy to do family history research. I love finding stories about my ancestors that have either been printed in old newspapers or written and submitted by other family researchers.

Genealogy has came a long way since 1982. Records at your fingertips! Who would have thought! The app is very easily navigated and packed full of historical timeline features. I think these are in important for allowing generational perspective understanding for the researcher. Once you have your tree going, the question is always, "What was life like for him/her in that part of the country/world?" You wonder what challenges they had or what their home looked like...Ancestry.com helps us fill in those blanks. I would like to see more historical facts and artifacts to display in our family stories. The DNA features need tweaking and those without family tree should be excluded or available to hide when searching your cousin connections. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Theyve revamped the amp since I last tried to use it. It works so much better and is almost as easy to use as the website. A nice tool for making updates when not at home.

Found this app to be quite handy for working with hints. You can easily check out hints while away from desktop. Very well integrated with online Ancestry.com site, but you really need the online version to do "the heavy lifting".

Just like your family tree, Ancestry.coms mobile app has its on pros and cons. Simple to use and efforts to improve are frequent but not always successful. A little "buggy" at times and a bit irksome that Ancestry charges guests for photos that they have uploaded to the site (shouldnt the provider at least get a percentage of that revenue?). Desperately needs sorting options -- by significant dates, military service ( would be nice to sort all Confederate or WWI and WWII veterans) etc. The price remains prohibitive to most of us, but the guest access helps get started.
